The creators of Charnela are María and Fearn, two friends who for the longest time had been searching for a place to share their projects and creations. María had already embarked on a jewelry project a couple of years ago, crafting unique designs for earrings out of polymer clay. Fearn on the other hand, newly introduced herself to this world quite recently, as one day walking along the seashore and rummaging for shells between the pebbles, washed-up algae and driftwood, she imagined how beautifully these natural treasures would look transformed into jewels... This is the beginning of how Charnela was born and brought to life between the cozy walls of Fearn's apartment.

All of our designs are influenced by the materials used to build them, and although we do present a variety in compositions of gems, glass and shells in our product line, our most recognizable pieces are composed of the raw material handpicked from our shores. This way, not only are we forging accessories from Nature to enhance your natural beauty, but we are also giving these unnoticed treasures a newly fledged purpose...A second chance at life.

It is so important for us to look after the unique environment that allows us to create these unique jewels, and for this reason you will not find any plastic in our packaging. All of our items have been responsably handled and treated, so that now more than ever, during these times of uncertainty due to Covid-19, you can feel at ease when purchasing one of our products.

You could appreciate each pair of earrings as unique and unrepeatable, for this is the case. Every shell and bead is different, and for this reason the jewels you receive may alter in appearance slightly from the photos you see online... But this quality is exactly what makes our jewels so special!
